District 11 Community Legal Services (D11 CLS) is a collaboration between Legal Assistance to the Elderly (LAE), Asian Law Caucus- Asians Advancing Justice (ALC), Jubilee Immigration Advocates (Jubilee), and Excelsior Works! (EW!).
Each week we will have a regular intake clinic focusing on a different legal practice area. At least two clinics per month will be in the evening to ensure greater access to services. Each clinic will have a Know Your Rights component and then have slotted appointment times that allow for direct legal consultation. For clients with issues that require more extensive service or representation, follow up appointments will be made. The Intake Clinics and the follow up appointments will take place at EW! or other locations within D11. D11 CLS has devised the following proposed schedule: 1st Thursday: General & Senior Legal Services Clinic, 2nd Thursday: Immigration, 3rd Thursday: Worker’s Rights (evening) and 4th Thursday: Housing (evening)
Clinic language capacity: Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin and Tagalog.
Mobile Clinics: The mobile clinic will bring the general legal/housing clinic services to community groups that serve seniors throughout D11, rotationally, on a quarterly basis or as requested. This includes regular clinics & workshops at I.T. Bookman Community Center in the Oceanview.
